1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") outline the agreement between Views from Japan Ltd ("we," "us," "our") and any individual ("you," "the Traveller") who purchases, books, or otherwise engages with our services, including but not limited to:
Purchase of Views from Japan books and eBooks.
Participation in Views from Japan Planning Sessions.
Recommendations for travel services and itinerary planning assistance ("Journeys").
By using our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
2. Scope of Services
2.1 General Advisory Role
We provide curated travel recommendations and itinerary planning services. Any recommendations or advice provided via our blog, Planning Sessions, or direct communications are for guidance only and are up to the discretion and responsibility of the Traveller.
2.2 Third-Party Bookings
For Journeys, we provide itinerary planning and refer Travellers to a trusted Destination Management Company (DMC) for bookings. The DMC is responsible for handling all financial transactions, bookings, and service provisions. Views from Japan Ltd does not act as an agent, reseller, or tour operator and does not hold any responsibility for payments, booking terms, or service execution.
Views from Japan Ltd shall not be responsible to you for any excursions or other services or facilities which do not form part of your Trip.
3. Payments, Cancellations & Refunds
3.1 Books
Refunds are available only for books that arrive damaged.
We are not responsible for incorrect shipping addresses provided by the customer.
3.2 Planning Sessions
Full refund available for cancellations made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled session.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 24 hours of the session.
3.3 Journeys
Since bookings are made directly with the DMC, all cancellation policies, refunds, and changes are subject to the DMC’s Terms & Conditions. Views from Japan Ltd is not responsible for refunds or changes to bookings
4. Traveller Responsibilities & Liability
4.1 Travel Insurance
It is the Traveller’s responsibility to arrange and purchase comprehensive travel insurance to cover all potential risks, including medical emergencies, trip cancellations, lost baggage, or other disruptions.
4.2 Immigration & Entry
The Traveller is responsible for complying with Japan’s immigration policies. Failure to comply may result in denied entry, and Views from Japan Ltd accepts no liability in such cases.
4.3 Personal Health & Safety
Travellers with allergies, mobility issues, or specific requirements must disclose these in advance. Views from Japan Ltd is not responsible for any issues arising from undisclosed conditions.
We do not provide medical or emergency support. All medical assistance and related costs are the sole responsibility of the Traveller.
4.4 Limitation of Liability
Views from Japan Ltd provides travel advice and itinerary planning only. We do not sell, book, or manage travel services. As such, we accept no liability for trip disruptions, service quality, cancellations, or other issues related to bookings made through third-party providers.
The Traveller accepts any possible risks and assumes full responsibility for any loss, injury, or damage. The Traveller agrees not to sue Views from Japan Ltd or its staff for economic loss or physical/mental injury related to the Trip.
5. Third-Party Providers & Service Disruptions
We do our very best to work with the most reputable and trusted suppliers to ensure an exceptional travel experience.
5.1 Responsibility for Third-Party Services
Views from Japan Ltd does not operate, control, or contract directly with hotels, airlines, or travel providers. We provide travel recommendations, but all bookings and service provisions are made directly between the Traveller and the third-party provider. Any disputes must be resolved directly with the provider or the DMC handling the booking.
5.2 Service Cancellations & Changes
If a third-party provider cancels a service, we will make reasonable efforts to assist in finding an alternative but are not obligated to provide refunds or compensation beyond what the provider offers.
6. Force Majeure & Uncontrollable Events
We are not liable for delays, cancellations, or service interruptions due to force majeure events, including but not limited to:
Natural disasters (earthquakes, typhoons, floods, etc.).
War, riots, or civil disturbances.
Pandemics, epidemics, or government-imposed travel restrictions.
Strikes, industrial actions, or supplier failures.
No refunds will be issued in these cases.
7. Privacy & Data Use
7.1 Data Collection & Storage
We collect only essential personal data (e.g., emails, travel preferences, and purchase details) for service facilitation, including the processing of book purchases.
Data is stored securely and used solely for the purpose of fulfilling the services requested, including completing purchases. It will not be shared with third parties except as necessary to process transactions or provide services.
7.2 Data Sharing
To facilitate bookings and transactions, essential details, including purchase information, may be shared with third-party providers (e.g., hotels, guides, transport services, and fulfilment partners). By engaging our services, you consent to this data-sharing practice, which is solely for the purpose of completing bookings or fulfilling book orders.
7.3 Website
Except where otherwise indicated, the website, and all text, graphics, images, marks, and logos are the property of Views from Japan Ltd and are protected by UK copyright laws.
Views from Japan Ltd maintains and updates the website on a best-effort basis, but program prices, contents, or conditions are subject to change due to unavoidable reasons and the website may not be updated immediately.
8. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
8.1 Dispute Resolution
In the unlikely event of a dispute, we require parties to attempt resolution through mediation before any legal action is pursued.
Written complaints must be submitted within 30 days of the trip’s conclusion.
8.2 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by UK law. Any disputes shall be resolved under the jurisdiction of UK courts.
9. Acceptance of Risk
Itinerary recommendations provided by Views from Japan Ltd are advisory only and subject to availability. We cannot guarantee the availability, pricing, or quality of services recommended. By engaging in our services, you acknowledge that certain risks are inherent in travel. We reserve the right to modify itineraries if necessary to ensure Traveller safety and experience quality. Views from Japan Ltd and its representatives accept no liability for enforced changes or cancellations beyond our control.
10. Final Agreement
By purchasing, booking, or engaging in any service provided by Views from Japan Ltd, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
