Compensation is dependent on experience and all roles are remote at this time.

Opportunities

  • Views from Japan is seeking a talented Photo Retoucher to join our team on an ad hoc basis.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Image Retouching: Specifically working with architectural and travel-based images, ensuring they align with the Views from Japan aesthetic.

    • Consistency: Use layer masking in Photoshop and presets in Lightroom to deliver a cohesive look and feel across all visuals.

    • Quality Control: Maintain a meticulous eye for detail, ensuring all edits are seamless and natural.

    • Adapting to Style: Demonstrate a strong understanding of our unique photographic style and apply it to every project.

    What We're Looking For:

    • Proven experience in photo retouching, particularly with architecture and travel-based photography.

    • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop (layer masking, blending) and Adobe Lightroom (preset application and adjustments).

    • An excellent eye for composition, colour, and lighting adjustments.

    • Ability to adapt to our brand’s look and feel with precision and care.

    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work efficiently on a project-by-project basis.

  • We're looking for an experienced and data-driven Marketing Coordinator to join our team. If you love to tell compelling stories, optimise campaigns, and grow audiences – and you’re passionate about travel and Japan – this could be the perfect role for you.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Content Management: Work with an ongoing editorial calendar to manage and upload blog and newsletter content.

    • Copywriting & Editing: Draft and refine copy for blog posts and newsletters, transforming briefs into engaging, brand-appropriate text.

    • Analytics & Insights: Monitor performance using analytics. Identify patterns and share actionable insights to guide future content and outreach strategies.

    • Market Research: Keep a pulse on emerging trends. Present ideas on how we can stand out, build our audience, and enhance our brand’s storytelling.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Hands-On Approach: You’re not afraid to dive into the details—whether that’s proofreading a blog post or formatting an email.

    • Strong Communication & Writing Skills: You know how to shape copy to match a brand’s voice, avoiding clichés and bringing fresh, clear storytelling to the forefront.

    • Problem Solver: Take the reins to keep tasks on schedule, ensure content is properly formatted and styled, and are quick to spot small errors.

    • Passion for Travel & Culture: A genuine interest in exploring Japan’s distinct culture, design, and lifestyle.

    Qualifications

    • 1–3 years' relevant experience in marketing/brand management

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Experience working with systems including MailChimp, Shopify and social media platforms

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities
